UNIVERSAL ADHESIVE AND REINFORCING MIXTURE (KL-VIP)

Information

PROPERTIES
Adhesive and reinforcing mixture designed for stone wool and styrofoam façade panels. Adaptability, resistance to cold and moisture, vapour permeability, low moisture absorption.

BASE / SURFACE PREPARATION
The base should be clean, smooth and solid. Clean any dust, grease, oil and other impurities from the surface. Cracked and loose parts (such as old paint, varnish, etc.) should be removed mechanically (using wire brush or similar tools). In addition, we recommend to hack the places where thuds can be heard upon tapping, and patch them up using the repair mix. For substrates with a high and irregular absorption capacity as well as for brittle substrates, use a base primer.

MIXTURE PREPARATION
Pour 25 kg of dry mixture into approximately 6.5-7 litres of water, constantly stirring until homogeneous. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then mix again thoroughly. The prepared mix should be used within 3-4 hours (at a temperature of + 20 °C). Works are to be carried out at the ambient temperature of at least + 5 °C.

CONSUMPTION AND OUTPUT
Approximately 4.5 kg/m ² is used to attach panels.
Reinforcing fibre embedding and coating – approximately 5 kg/m².

STORAGE CONDITIONS Store in a dry place protected from moisture. Opened bags must be tightly closed.

SHELF LIFE Best for 12 months after the date of production.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

We recommend to cover the side of panels to which the adhesive will be applied with a thin layer of adhesive beforehand, rubbing well into the surface. Cover the edges with the adhesive mix along the entire perimeter of the panel. Do not forget to cover several palm-sized areas in the middle of the panel. The adhesive is applied from the bottom upwards. If the surface is smooth and even, spread the adhesive mix over the entire surface of the panel using a notched spatula (notch size – 10 x 10 x 10 mm). Panel attaching time: 15–20 minutes. Make sure panel edges press and bond with the base properly. Make sure panel junctions are not covered with adhesive (otherwise panels will be joined firmly and without spacing). The attached panels are to be fixed with studs after 24-48 hours at the earliest. Next, coat the attached and fixed panels with the prepared mix, and crease the surface using a notched spatula. Place the reinforcing mesh on top of the creased mix layer and use plane spatula to embed the mesh via plastering. During the drying period, protect the coated surface from rain and cold. The time of panel attaching and reinforcing mix drying is approximately 72 hours and depends on the layer thickness and weather conditions.* After the mix has dried completely, you may continue with façade finishing. Under adverse weather conditions (e.g., cooler air temperature and higher relative humidity), the reinforcing mix drying time may increase. In this case, we recommend to postpone further finishing until the reinforcing layer dries completely.

* Favourable weather conditions include air temperature of + 20 °C and relative humidity up to 65%.
