GYPSUM-BASED HAND APPLIED PLASTER (GTR-8)

Information

PROPERTIES
Good adhesion to substrates, high resistance, workability, universal use.

BASE / SURFACE PREPARATION
Starting the plasterwork is recommended after the end of the wall and other concrete element subsidence, contraction and drying time, i.e. after 2-3 months for built walls and after 4-6 months for concrete walls and other concrete elements at the earliest. The surface to be plastered should be firm, stable and smooth in order to avoid excessive differences in the thickness of the plaster layer. Also, the surface should be free of dust, soot, grease, oils, bond-reducing substances, paint, and mortar residue. Thick and non-absorbent base, such as concrete, should be primed using adhesion enhancing primers forming the bridge between the plaster coating and the base. Use base primer for surfaces with high moisture absorption capacities. Complex foundations or junctions between various construction materials should be reinforced using reinforcing mesh embedded into plaster at a depth of 1/3, providing that plaster is at least 15 mm thick. All open metal parts should be protected from gypsum's corrosive activity. Windows, doors, radiators, and so on should be covered with construction film. Before starting plasterwork, attach all angle sections.

MIXTURE PREPARATION
Pour the dry mix into clean cold water in portions, stirring constantly. After having prepared the first batch, check its consistency. If necessary, adjust the amount of water to be added. Record or remember this mixing ratio so that other mix batches would be prepared in the same manner. Do not mix the hardened mix with water or freshly prepared mix.

CONSUMPTION AND OUTPUT
1 kg/m² per 1 mm thick layer

STORAGE CONDITIONS
Store in a dry place, protect from moisture, do not damage the original packaging.

SHELF LIFE
Best for 6 months from the date of production.

ATTENTION! WORK SAFETY
The work must be carried out in a dry environment. When working as well as at the time of drying air and base temperature must be between + 5 °C and + 25 °C. All data and recommendations provided are valid when the air and substrate temperature is equal to + 20 °C and relative humidity 60%. Under other conditions, the properties of the product may change.
Provided work recommendations are observed, the producer ensures the quality of the mixture. However, the producer will not be responsible for any consequences that may result from use of the mixture in other conditions, or for other purposes.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Use a stainless steel spatula for application. Immediately after applying, strap the plaster layer down and smooth it using h type ruler. After the layer has slightly thickened, strap down and smooth it for the second time, using trapezoid ruler to properly level surfaces and corners. During the final stage of plaster hardening, dampen the plaster surface by spraying it with water and smooth it using a trowel with sponge. After the plaster surface has become matt, you can finally level it using a stainless steel spatula. Before painting, plastering or installing ceramic tiles, prime the dried plaster using a gypsum-based plaster priming agent consistent with the type of finishing coat to be applied. If ceramic tiles are to be installed on top of the plaster surface, such surface should not be rubbed or levelled. After having completed the work, it is necessary to ventilate the premises, where plasterwork was carried out, especially if the work was carried out during the cold season. Protect fresh plaster from drafts and cold.
