POLYSTYRERE PANEL ADHESIVE (KL-P)

Information

PROPERTIES
Special adhesive designed for attaching polystyrene insulation panels indoors and outdoors. Adaptability, vapour permeability, resistance to cold and water, good adhesion to polystyrene and mineral substrates.

BASE / SURFACE PREPARATION
The base should be clean, smooth and solid, with all dust, grease, oil and other impurities removed from its surface. Cracked and loose parts (such as old paint, varnish, etc.) should be removed mechanically (using wire brush or similar tools). In addition, we recommend to hack the places where thuds can be heard upon tapping, and patch them up using the repair mix. For substrates with a high and irregular absorption capacity as well as for brittle substrates, use a base primer.

MIXTURE PREPARATION
Pour 25 kg of dry mixture into approximately 6 litres of water, constantly stirring until homogeneous. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then mix again thoroughly. The prepared mix should be used within 3-4 hours (at a temperature of + 20 °C). The work should only be carried out at the ambient temperature of at least + 5 °C .

SĄNAUDOS
Consumption: approx. 4.5 kg/m².

SHELF LIFE Best for 12 months after the date of production.

STORAGE CONDITIONS Store in a dry place protected from moisture. Opened bags must be tightly closed.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

We recommend to cover the side of panels to which the adhesive will be applied, as well as places, where the adhesive dots will be located, with a thin layer of adhesive beforehand, pressing well (priming will ensure bond with dusty and heated panel surfaces as well as surfaces affected by other adverse factors). Cover the edges with the adhesive mix along the entire perimeter of the panel. Do not forget to cover several palm-sized areas in the middle of the panel. The adhesive is applied from the bottom upwards. If the surface is smooth and even, spread the adhesive mix over the entire surface of the panel using a notched spatula (notch size – 10 x 10 x 10 mm). Panel attaching time: 15–20 minutes. It should be noted the adhesive surface of the panels attached to the base should be at least 40% of the entire panel surface. Otherwise, no proper bond will be formed between the panels and the base. Make sure panel edges press and bond with the base properly. Make sure panel junctions are not covered with adhesive (otherwise panels will be joined firmly and without spacing). The attached panels are to be fixed with studs after 24-48 hours at the earliest. Otherwise the panels may deform and spring back from the surface.
